Japan has specialist textile regions — such as Bishu for wool, Okayama for denim and Hokuriku for synthetic fabrics — and much of their output is sold through textile converters rather than directly by the mills. FOCUS works from your brief: we ask Japanese mills and converters for matching fabrics, arrange swatches and confirm minimum lots, lead times and prices.
For technical materials, we also confirm whether export controls apply before quoting.

This is the scope of enquiries we accept, not a stock list. Availability is confirmed for each request.
What we check
- Minimum lot per colour, and whether stock fabric is available as an alternative to a production run.
- Lead time for sampling and bulk production.
- Test reports or certificates you need, such as fibre content or colour fastness.
- Export controls: some technical fibres, including certain carbon fibre materials, are controlled under Japan's export regulations.
How a sourcing request works

Product, specification, quantity, destination and target date. A short message is fine to start.
We confirm the fit
Within one to two business days we tell you whether we can pursue it, and what else we need.
Supplier search and quotation
We contact suppliers in Japanese and return a quotation with product, Japanese costs and freight shown separately. Typically one to three weeks.
Order, inspection and shipping
Payment and delivery terms are agreed in writing first. We then order, check the goods, prepare export documents and ship.
